Creating period equality with PHS

CAUSE:

We needed to raise awareness of the level to which period poverty and menstruation was affecting attendance at schools.

CAMPAIGN:

We commissioned independent research to glean the opinions of 2,000 learners who have periods, and created a white paper which we gave to media, stakeholders and government representatives. We travelled to schools across England to run in-depth interviews with schools to inform our campaign and created video case studies of best practice to share with schools.

IMPACT:

We achieved significant amounts of national coverage, but most notably, we incited an increase to 96% in the number of secondary schools ordering period products to be accessible for free to learners, and the client was reselected for a major period equality contract.
